CheeseFest, the ultimate cheese-lover’s event, just keeps growing in public attendance and the number of cheeses on show. With record entries into the Cuisine Champions of Cheese Awards and a new venue in Auckland’s Langham Hotel, organisers predict this year will be the biggest yet.
CheeseFest offers the public a unique opportunity to come and taste all the cheese entered in the 2010 Cuisine NZ Champions of Cheese Awards. For just $30, you can savour and sample the best cheese made in New Zealand – served with a complimentary glass of Yealands Estate wine.
Cheesemakers and cheese companies from around New Zealand will be on hand at this special event to showcase their products, engage with the public and share their expertise. CheeseFest 2010 is a chance for the public to purchase some of the best cheeses in the land at fantastic prices to take home and enjoy.
Running from 5-8pm on Wednesday, March 3, CheeseFest will feature more than 400 of the country’s finest speciality cheeses, including the country’s top cheddars, best blues, creamiest bries and fetas as well as some exciting new additions.
Awards organiser Vikki Lee Goode says this year’s CheeseFest will be “foodie heaven”.
“Not only do attendees get to taste the best cheeses in the country, they also get to meet the people who make them, listen to the stories behind each cheese, and buy their favourite cheeses from the awards at real bargain prices.
“If you love cheese, attending this event is non-negotiable.”
A cash bar is available to purchase wines to match with cheeses. Non-alcoholic beverages are also available.
And as an added bonus, attendees can meet the winning artisan food producers from the 2010 Cuisine Artisan Awards. The winning companies will be on hand with a range of wonderful artisan-produced food products to taste and to buy.
